1971 - 1978 (age 5 - 12)

Mike had a large extended family including 4 living grandparents, 12 aunts and uncles, and many cousins. Our yard was often filled with neighborhood kids his age. Mike always wanted to be in the middle of the action; he loved to be around people. He loved creative, theatrical play and physical activity.

      new camping friends
Mike and his brother spent time fishing and exploring the water at the end of the street. They had their beloved dog, rabbits, tropical fish, snakes, and rescued the occasional injured bird. Michael was always very sensitive and compassionate. He began studying piano and violin, and took art lessons; really enjoying sculpture.

school play
As younger brothers do, Mike often emulated his older brother, taking sailing lessons and playing ice hockey. They spent lots of time skateboarding and riding their bikes through the woods down at the "Honda path" with the other neighborhood kids.
